Kevin J. Lindenmuth
Brimstone Media Productions, LLC
Kevin Lindenmuth/Brimstone Media Productions, LLC specializes in all aspects of video production. For the past seven years we have specialized in videos for company websites and city profile videos.
Films/Documentaries/Videos
In the 90's we started out producing direct-to-video indie features in NYC, which were widely distributed through extinct stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood video. Then, at the beginning of the 21st Century we switched gears and produced documentaries which were broadcast nationally on the PBS system. There was even one broadcast world-wide. Many of the documentaries can be found at libraries throughout the United States and the majority of the films are available through Amazon.com.
During the past decade we've specialized in local commercials and informational videos for company websites in the Detroit Metro area.
Books/Journalism
An indie feature director/writer foremost, Kevin Lindenmuth has written four books on the subject. Making Movies on Your Own (McFarland 1998), The Independent Film Experience (McFarland, 2003), The Documentary Moviemaking Course (Barron's, 2010 in the US, A&C Black Publishers in the UK), and How to Make Movies: Low/No Budget Indie Filmmakers Tell All (2013, McFarland). Other books include his half a million word movie review book, Horror Movies: The Good, The Bad, and the So Bad They're Good (2013). A horror fiction book, The Dead Don't Die (co-written with indie filmmaker/author Evan Jacobs) will be released in 2016.
His magazine articles have appeared in issues of World of Fandom, Draculina, Alternative Cinema and Fangoria.
Why the name "Brimstone"? No, we're not devil worshippers. It's the name of the "production company" Lindenmuth made up when he made Super 8 films in the 70's and 80's as a kid--and the name stuck.
Kevin J. Lindenmuth also interview genre personalities and writes reviews as "The Gravedigger" at the horror website www.buried.com. Check it out.
